Winters may be our favourite season but it isn’t for our skin. The sudden change in climate can create a havoc for our skin. But with the right skin care routine and special winter skin care, the scenario can be changed. If you want to make Winters your skin’s favourite season too, please keep on reading. 1. Use a Sunscreen One of the most common Winter skin care mistakes is not using a sunscreen. As long as there is sunlight, we need a sunscreen to protect our skin from UV rays. 2. Moisturise Apply moisturiser after a bath when your skin is still damp. This helps the skin to absorb the moisturiser better and lock in the moisture. 3. Exfoliate Regular exfoliation is a must as they not only remove dead cells but also improve blood circulation. Getting rid of dead cells helps moisturizers seep in faster. You can either dry brush or use body scrubs. 4. Hydrate Yourself We may not feel thirsty much during Winters, but our water intake hydrates our skin and improves the texture. 5. Lip Balms Slather on a thick coat of lip balms during nights and scrub it with a toothbrush by morning. Regular application of lip balms avoid chapped lips and dryness. 6. Oil Massage Oil massages are a must during Winters as they warm up the body and result in better blood flow. Also regular application of oil on arms, legs and face avoid and heal dry patches quickly. 7. Steaming Steaming opens the skin pores and brings out the dirt from your skin in the form of sweat. This is another important step, as during Winters our pores tend to get clogged more and closed pores can result in acne and other skin problems. 8. Avoid Hot Showers Yes. You heard that right. Hot showers may feel soothing but they aren’t good for the skin. So avoid hot showers and try medium warm showers instead. I hope these Winter skin care tips were useful. A red lipstick is an iconic beauty staple and is one of the first lip shades that were used. From Marilyn Monroe to Taylor Swift, women have always loved sporting red lips. Your vanity is never complete without a red lipstick. There is a red for every woman. But it is often difficult to choose the right red for your skin tone. The red which suits your bff or your mother may not suit you. Wondering why? Then, keep on reading. In this write up I’ll be sharing just one trick to find the right red lipstick. One trick that will change your beauty game. The one trick is to buy a red lipstick that suits your undertone. We are generally categorised into warm (yellow), neutral and cool (pink) undertones. Find out your undertone with these tips. 1. Have a look at your veins in sunlight. If they appear green you have warm undertone and if they are blue, you fall under the cool undertone. If you cannot figure out between green and blue, you are lucky as you are a neutral undertone person. 2. If gold jewellery suits you more, you are warm skin toned. If silver suits you, you are cool skin toned. You are neutral skin toned if both suits you. 3. Do you look gorgeous in yellow or orange? Then welcome to the club. You are a warm skin toned person. Blue or greens will suit cool skin tones better. Now that you know your skin tone, let’s move on to our topic… If you are warm skin tone person, look out for red lipsticks that have more of orange tint in them. If you are a cool skin tone person, red lipsticks mixed with blue will flatter your skin tone. Find your perfect red lipstick and unleash your inner Marilyn Monroe! Hi all, I recently visited the Patanjali showroom at my place and bought a few products to try and review. The first review is on a hair care product – Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash. I have used this hair wash for about 3 to 4 times and here are my thoughts on it. Product Description A unique blend of coconut oil and natural extract of Ghritkumari, Methi, Bhringraj and Heena with neutralize base, which cleanses gently, nourish and moisturize the scalp and experience hair soft, silky and shiny. Packaging The coconut hair wash comes in a plastic tube with a sturdy flip cap. It is white in color with an image of coconut and herbs on the tube. The packaging is sturdy, leak proof and travel friendly. It says that is specially designed for dry and rough hair. Ingredients Price & Quantity Rs. 95 for 150 ml. My experience with Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash The hair wash is white in color and has the consistency of a conditioner. I applied this hair wash on my oiled hair and washed it after 5 minutes. It didn’t lather as it is a herbal product and I wasn’t expecting good results. But to my surprise, this hair wash removed the oil and also made my hair smooth and silky. This can be used as an everyday hair wash or on days when you don’t want to use chemical shampoos. This hair wash is rich in herbal properties and it surely improved the texture of my hair. I’ve tried quite a few herbal shampoos but Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash is surely the winner. For regular updates, follow me on Hi all, Hope you are all doing well. I got my first pimple on my 11th birthday. Pimples tend to pop out during special occasions. Don’t you agree? I’ll be listing 5 home remedies which are effective to treat pimples and acne. 1. Sandalwood & Aloe Vera Make a paste of sandalwood powder and aloe vera gel. Apply all over your face and wash it off once it is dried. Both ingredients have cooling properties and will soothe your pimples. Aloe vera controls excess oil, thereby avoiding new pimples. Apply this mask once in a week till your marks disappear. 2. Lemon Juice Apply lemon juice on the pimples or pimple marks with a cotton swab before you sleep. Leave it overnight as citrus extract will kill the germs and control oil secretion. 3. Steaming Boil water and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Position your face with the rising steam and wait till you sweat. This opens your pores and flushes out the impurities. Use a clean cotton swab and wipe your face. Regular steaming will avoid pimples. 4. Fenugreek & Aloe Vera Mix fenugreek and aloe vera gel and apply on the pimples or the marks. Wash it after 10 minutes. Practice this regularly for effective results. 5. Gram Flour, Turmeric & Honey Make a paste of gram flour, turmeric and honey. Apply this as a face mask. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and wash it off.
